This diary will be written about twice monthly during the summer by either Charlie or Clare to keep you updated with what is happening with the crops, people and wildlife on the farm and anything else we feel maybe of interest.

We are coming on full stream with more produce and now the weather is behaving itself we should have more continuity although I must say our Coriander keeps going to seed before its large enough to harvest (Charlie is becoming paranoid he can't grow anymore!!).  The Sweet William flowers look stunning in the field and the bumble bees love them.

To transport the staff safely and efficiently to pick the various crops I use an oldish Land Rover which does not go on the road. With the football world cup starting it was time to get behind the England team by showing are support and the Polish workers we have don't mind as they are not in the world cup and we do have the same colours in our flags!!

The birds have been very busy this spring and we have got 8 Lapwing nests and 1 Ringed Plover along with a couple of Pheasant nests and chicks, 2 Red legged Partidges (which I have never seen on the farm before) of which we can't tell if they are a pair or just mates!! In our wash shed we have a pair of Robins with some very noisy and hungry chicks as mum and dad are in and out with food for them constantly.  I have also found a skylark nest with 5 eggs in the low scrubby grass alongside are middle roadway. Where we pump water from a lake there is a kingfisher nest and also a Green Woodpecker nest in a tree.
