This diary will be written about twice monthly during the summer by either Charlie or Clare to keep you updated with what is happening with the crops, people and wildlife on the farm and anything else we feel maybe of interest.

Well I have been so busy that nearly the whole of July has gone by!! We had no rain at all from the 14th June until the 15th July and it has only rained twice since so the irrigation team have been full on for well over 6 weeks and the only green areas are the crops!! We did well with the nesting birds and we still see a hen pheasant with six of her chicks wandering over the fields.

We are harvesting all crops except Wallflowers and I have 12 harvesting staff who between them are producing on average 2000 packages a day. On some crops like Dill and Spinach a picker can produce about 450 bunches in one hour (thats a bunch every 11 seconds!!).
